In her exhibition “Wertewirtschaft” (Value Economy) at Museum Hamburger Bahnhof, Andrea Pichl (*1964) focuses on the economic transfer of money and goods between East and West Germany as well as the transformation that took place after 1989. For her presentation, the artist has designed an architectural installation in which visitors become part of the staging. Using everyday, mostly standardised and mass-produced building forms and objects, Pichl subjects things and spaces to critical reflection and shows which social norms are inscribed in them.
